Healthy, Better-for-you food company
COO/CFO Management services
Provided senior level, strategic, financial and operations advisory services to a privately held food start-up company. Established a rapidly growing co-manufacturing network to include 12 US and Canadian based contract food manufacturers. Developed a complete distribution and logistics network in order to serve conventional and natural food retailers. Developed demand planning and inventory forecasting models to support the company's growth to over $150 million in annual revenue. Managed all financial, accounting, banking and regulatory matters, to include the successful first year financial audit. Oversaw legal, financial, operational and compliance due diligence which resulted in the sale of the company to a large fortune 100 CPG food company.
Set up US operations and provided Interim COO management services
We were engaged to build out the US distribution and operations infrastructure for this Dutch technology company, a spin-off of Phillips Electronics. We provided senior management for the company in both the US and the Netherlands. The company developed proprietary e-paper display technology and devices and was later sold to LG Display (Korea).
Offered operations advisory services and capital equipment specification development
We provided senior level, strategic advisory services to a privately held, international mining company in the business of exploration, development, and, ultimately, extraction of precious metals in Colombia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and the USA. We advised in operations, capital equipment procurement, and proof drilling for an alluvial gold project in Colombia. Our work concluded in successful proof drilling and exploration results, allowing JV financing to build out the subsequent mining operations at several sites.

Advised partner through company share sale
We advised one of the partners of a privately held engineering and manufacturing firm to guide him in the divestiture of his company shares. We developed a deal structure that provided a current cash buyout component, along with a 5-year secured note. We worked closely with legal and tax advisors to insure the best possible outcome for the selling share-holder, the company and the buyer.

Led Strategic Planning work session
We led the senior management of this VC-backed firm, which provides advanced control drives for a variety of commercial and military applications, through a strategic planning session. Management was under severe pressure to commercialize a long-term DARPA funded project and technology for unmanned drones. We met with all senior managers, developed the planning meeting agenda, and led the team through its first strategic planning session, focusing the team on the company's key sustainable competitive advantages and most promising market position. The work resulted in both additional VC financing and progress toward commercializing the motor technology.
